Vaccine Schedules
Puppies
Puppy core vaccines include distemper/parvo (DHPP), Lepto, Bordatella and Rabies. Other vaccines are risk based; those are lyme and canine flu. Heartworm prevention chews start at 6 weeks of age and are given monthly for life!
- 6-8 weeks: 1st DHPP, Bordatella
- 9-11 weeks: 2nd DHPP
- 12-14 weeks: 3rd DHPP, start lepto
- 15-17 weeks: Final DHPP, finish lepto, rabies
Kittens
Kitten core vaccines include feline distemper/parvo (FVRCP), feline leukemia (FELV) and rabies. Heartworm prevention products are topical for cats, which start at 8 weeks of age and are applied monthly for life!
- 6-8 weeks: 1st FVRCP
- 9-11 weeks: 2nd FVRCP, start FELV
- 12-14 weeks: 3rd FVRCP, finish FELV
- 15-17 weeks: Final FVRCP and rabies
If your puppy or kitten is starting vaccines after 4 months of age or has no previous records please speak with a VACCINE VAN staff member regarding a modified vaccine schedule
Dogs
Adult dogs need vaccines yearly. Core vaccines include:
- Distemper/parvo (DHPP)
- Lepto
- Bordatella (kennel cough)
- Rabies (required by law)
- Canine Flu (H3N2/H3N8; risk-based)
Cats
Adult cats need 3 vaccines each year.
- Rabies
- Feline distemper/parvo (FVRCP)
- Feline leukemia (FELV)
